Homecare Staff

The quality care provided by millennium Homecare staff is achieved by a process of safe vetting. This is commenced by the receipt of good references and these are supported by the completion if an enhanced Police Check on each member of staff.

Only when a ‘ Clean' check is obtained does a worker begin induction training.

The training we provide all new, and existing workers is as follows:

  • Health and Safety
  • Moving and Handling
  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • End of Life Care
  • Fire Safety
  • Adult protection
  • First Aid
  • Medication
  • Mental Capacity
  • Nutrition
  • Tissue Viability and Infection Control
  • Dementia Awareness
  • Challenging Behaviour
  • Re-ablement and Falls Prevention
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Care co-ordinators and senior carers)

Staff supervision and appraisals are carried out at 3 monthly intervals to monitor correct procedures, good time keeping, and is supported by the telephone recording system that is a requirement by Derbyshire County Council along with an on-going high standard of care.

If at anytime Millennium feel this is not being attained then additional support and training with be provided. Staff are expected to wear Millennium’s green tunic with company logo and an identification badge at all visits. All staff are covered by public and employers liability.

The above procedures contribute to Millennium Homecare Services maintaining quality premium status with Derbyshire County Council.
